PRESS RELEASE........... November 22, 2011 - OSA Board of Directors announce new logo and name change for 2012 and beyond...
Oconomowoc, WI - As soccer interest in Oconomowoc continues to grow, one of the largest youth soccer clubs in the area announced that they are officially changing the name of their soccer operations to the "Oconomowoc Soccer Club". The Oconomowoc Soccer Association (OSA) announced today that a new logo and brand name will be unveiled as part of the organization's continued growth and reorganization in anticipation of the half million dollars worth of improvements at the Ewald Soccer Fields at Monterey Park in the Town of Oconomowoc. The Oconomowoc Soccer Club, or OSC, refers to the recreational and select teams officially sanctioned by the organization. Although some of the operations will remain under the umbrella of the organization's OSA, a name used since 1988, all soccer team operations will be referred to as OSC beginning in 2012.
The Board of Directors approved the name change unanimously at a recent board meeting. The new logo and name reflect what the organization has become, a soccer club serving the needs of our youngest players all the way through adulthood. The club's website will reflect the branding change and all future apparel from the club will include the new logo and/or club shield.
Board President Mark Hansen stated "The new logo and name represent the growing interest in soccer as evident by the successful Project Kick Start Campaign and continued membership growth for the club. The new logo and brand name will be more recognizable throughout the region as our club continues to excel in recreational and select soccer play."
