Soccer Program
What is
Academy Soccer?
The Academy Soccer Program was put into place to insure players
experience soccer at a more competitive level. It entails longer
practices, tournaments, and indoor soccer. Commitment is a key
element in this program.
Academy Soccer is open to boys and girls looking to better their
skills on the soccer field and compete at a higher level. Players
in this program are often more skilled than the average same age
player.
Who is
eligible?
All boys and girls born between 8-1-2000 and 7-31-2001 who are
registered to play recreational soccer at OSA.
Who will coach?
Coaches assigned to each team will have the proper training and
coaching education that the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA)
provides along with additional coaching education provided by OSA.
The head coach is a paid position and the assistant coach may be a
volunteer parent. Coaches will insure the players receive the
proper skills and training, he or she may need to better themselves
on and off the fields. The OSA Coaching Staff will also provide
additional training throughout the season, as well as hands on
individual team training in the winter months.
Where do we play games?
Games will be played in the Metro Youth Regional Soccer League (MYRSL)
for boys and the South East Classic League (SECL) for girls. Games
may be played from Oconomowoc to Milwaukee and Racine to Port
Washington.
How do I sign
up?
Any player who feels they are experienced enough to participate
in the Academy Program should contact the OSA office by May 15
to sign up.
