Recreational Soccer Teams U6 through U14

The recreational soccer season begins the first Saturday after Labor Day and runs until mid to late October.  We break for the winter and start up again in April and run through the first Saturday in June when we host our Spring Classic Recreational Tournament. 

 All recreational teams are coached by volunteer coaches (they must obtain a G license or above.)  See coaches section for more information on how and where to obtain a coaching license. 

 U5 and U6 co-ed teams (ages 4-5) practice for a ½ hour and play a game for ½ hour on Saturday mornings at Monterey Park.  The 3 v 3 format is played, ball size #3 is used.  This program is designed for the child who has not played on a team before.  The rules of the game are introduced.  Fundamentals of the games such as dribbling, passing and kicking are presented.  Parent involvement is highly recommended since kids at this age may need some encouragement and motivation.   

 U7 and U8 co-ed teams (ages 6-7, grades 1 & 2) practice one day a week for an hour.  The practice day and time is determined by the coach.  Games will be played on Saturday mornings at Monterey Park.  The 4 v 4 format is played.  There is no goal keeper. Game time is 4 – 12 minute quarters.  Ball size #3 is used. 

 U10 boys and girls teams (ages 8-9, grades 3 & 4) practice twice a week for one hour. The practice days and times are determined by the coach.  Games will be played Saturday mornings at Monterey Park.  The 6 v 6 format is played.  There are 5 players on the field and a goalkeeper.  Game time is 2 – 25 minute halves.  Offsides is not called.  Ball size #4 is used. 

 U12 boys and girls teams (ages 10-11, grades 5 & 6) practice twice a week for one hour.  The practice days and times are determined by the coach.  This is the first age level where "travel" is required.  Games will be played on Saturday at Monterey Park or a soccer park in the Waukesha area.   Occasionally a game may be played on a weekday night or Sunday.  They will play other teams in the Waukesha area.  An 8 v 8 format is played.  There are 7 players on the field and a goalkeeper.  Offside is called.  Game time is 2 – 30 minute halves.  Ball size #4 is used. 

 U14 coed and girls teams (ages 12-13, grades 7 & 8) practice twice a week for 1 ½ hours.  The practice days and times are determined by the coach.  Games are played on Saturdays at Monterey Park or a soccer park in the Waukesha area.  They will play other teams in the Waukesha area.  An 11 v 11 format is played.  There are 10 players on the field and a goalkeeper.  Offside is called.  Game time is 2 – 35 minute halves.  Ball size #5 is used.
